Dr. Cindy Elliser, marine biologist with Pacific Biodiversity Institute, will depict the lives of spotted and bottlenose dolphins in the Bahamas. How do dolphins communicate? How do we tell them apart? What are their lives like? Learn about the individual dolphins the researchers have seen grow up and how their complex society resembles our own! Cindy will also talk about the new work she is beginning with harbor porpoises in the Salish Sea with Pacific Biodiversity Institute.
Join Trail Tales docents and Audubon birders on March 12 to enjoy a last glimpse of birds who winter in Fidalgo Bay before they leave for the breeding season. We'll also observe some of the year-round residents. Walk begins at the Fidalgo Bay RV Park at 8:30 a.m. and will last about 1.5 hours. Bring binoculars or scopes if you have them. Dress for the weather of the day!
